Sunrise Hike Elopement in Silver Plume, CO
emily & wayne’s sunrise hiking elopement
Do you love hiking? Do you want a place all to yourselves? Do you also want your family & friends to join? Then a sunrise hike elopement is for you! Emily & Wayne love hiking and they wanted their wedding to be different than the typical church wedding. They couldn’t imagine not having their family & friends there with them, so we decided to do an easier hike. We did the hike at sunrise not only to avoid crowds but to have the most beautiful morning for photos!
E&W picked out a hike in Silver Plume off I-70 for easy access for the entire group. They stayed in Summit County the night before to be closer to the hike. We parked at the trailhead and started hiking around 5:30am. It was only about 30 minutes of hiking to a beautiful clearing with mountain views and some good tree coverage so Emily could get ready with some privacy. When planning a hiking elopement, it’s always good to scout the hike you want to do ahead of time to visualize the ceremony & getting ready spaces.
E&W had their first look and shared a quiet moment together. They read their vows to each other as the rest of the group looked on from up the hill. Our timing was impeccable, as the mountains started to glow around them when they started reading their vows. After sharing their first kiss as a married couple, they toasted champagne & drank mimosas with the group, and we took some fun photos with everyone.
After having a beautiful and special morning up the mountain, it was time to hike back down. Later that day back in Denver, E&W had a reception at a brewery so the rest of their family could join. It was the best of both worlds for these two to celebrate their marriage. That’s the beauty of having an elopement- you can do it both ways! Have a smaller intimate ceremony, either just the two of you or with a small group, and then have a party with everyone! This wedding was so much fun to be a part of and I loved the vibes!
